29 October, 2001 Fifty celebrity authors will be signing books in Covent Garden on Saturday 10th November at a free family event to promote London's Living Library. London's Living Library is an exciting event for the whole family designed to highlight the tremendous range of services provided to Londoners by their libraries. The Mayor, Cllr. Jeremy Thorn and Mayoress, Mrs Barbara Thorn, will attend an evening reception at the Connaught Rooms, Covent Garden on Friday 9th November, where Baroness Blackstone, Minister for the Arts will launch the event that will be staged for families throughout the following day. |
More than 50 celebrity authors, including Jilly Cooper, Colin Dexter, Ruth
Rendell and Kingstonian, Jacqueline Wilson, will be signing books and talking
to visitors at the free fun event.
All thirty three London Boroughs will be represented at stands focusing on different aspects of London life. Kingston has teamed teamed up with neighbours Sutton and Richmond to present 'London's Food and Drink'. Antonio Carluccio will be providing the opportunity to taste some gastronomic delights and Jancis Robinson will be sharing her wine. Other stands include a special Harry Potter magical theme, a Gardener's Question Time and actors showing the art of theatrical make-up. |
