Liberal Democrat Councillor, Chrissie Hitchcock, has called on the Council to examine all possibilities and do whatever it can to enable the Wildcats to stay in the Borough following their recent success in the play-offs at Wembley securing promotion.
The problem is that the team are having difficulties in finding a suitable venue in the borough to play the games next season. Their current site at Chessington Sports Centre does not conform with the requirements of the National Basketball League
(NBL) and could cost them their promotion.

Councillor, Chrissie Hitchcock, said:
"Kingston has already lost one successful basketball team, which
was very unfortunate for the future of the sport in the Borough; to lose
two would just be careless. It is clear that there are issues that need
addressing, and if the Council can help continue to develop this sport
in the Borough then it must do so."
