These diversion are likely to be required for several days. A Kingston Council spokesperson said "A clearer picture will be known on Wednesday morning. Every effort is being made to open the road as soon as possible". Kingston Council has since received a large number of telephone calls relating to the lack of or low pressure in domestic water supplies. The
post codes in the Thames Water has since redirected the water to another mains pipe and low water pressure supplies have returned to MOST of the affected areas. Thames Water had plans to turn off mains water supplies in the affected areas completely last night to make the necessary repairs and full water supplies and pressure SHOULD now have been returned to the affected areas. |
