| Parkers Farm goes to committee | |
|
14 January, 2001 Parkers farm site in Malden Road, Worcester Park, is to be revisited by the new planning and development committee on Thursday at 7:30pm in the Guildhall. At the previous meeting, Councillor McDonald addressed the committee requesting that consideration be given to the area in terms of drainage, aspect, access and security. With outline permission being quickly granted when the Conservative Administration came to power, there is only a small amount of maneuvering that is possible. The current status is that while the larger properties on the plan have not been repositioned, the upper windows have, hence answering the objection of high overlooking windows. Thames Water has produced a report on drainage and two solutions are proposed. One of these uses a pump, but it is believed that Councillor |
McDonald will be seeking to make representations to the committee in order to steer them towards a maintenance and problem freer gravity system. The recreation ground is to be owned and administered by the homeowners of the new estate (like Chelsea Close). However unlike Chelsea Close, a covenant is understand is to be put in place so that all members of the public can use this. The application at present uses access to the estate via the Perrings development. However the owners of the Perrings development site are still holding a ransom strip stopping access. Councillor McDonald commented, "I have made it clear that the council should not support yet another junction on Malden Road. I will consequently be keeping a close eye on this application for any future changes". |
