| Survey reveals extent of Graffitti vandalism in Old Malden | |
|
09 February, 2001 An in-depth survey of Old Malden carried out by local Liberal Democrat Councillor Ian McDonald has revealed the extent to which the area has been ravished by Graffiti Vandals. The survey was carried out to draw attention to areas in Old Malden that are in urgent need of graffiti removal. It points to over 150 examples of graffiti in the Old Malden area alone. Councillor McDonald hopes the findings of the Survey will help the council during the planned graffiti removal blitz and highlights areas that will need to be kept an eye on in future. Commenting on the surveys findings Councillor McDonald said |
"I would say how shocked I was by the sheer scale of the graffiti problem in Old Malden but unfortunately those in the area are all to aware of how it has been scared by graffiti. It is disgusting the way Old Malden has deteriorated under the Tories and we must take action to reverse the trend. What this survey does is highlight those areas that are in need of attention. I will of course be remaining vigilant and ask resident to continue reporting examples to either myself or the council so we can get some urgently needed action taken in Old Malden." |
